Mother's Day Weekend

I am a mother of 3, soon to be 4.  I love them with all my heart, they make me laugh, cry and tear my hair out.  I wouldn't trade it in for world or any amount of money.  Some moments are soft others are not!  Hearing your child say they love you will melt your heart almost as much as hearing your kids help each other out.

Being a mom is one of the hardest and most rewarding things I have ever done.  I might not be the "best" mom, but if you know me I'm always trying to be better, more patient and understanding.  That is one gift I will give my kids, as a mother my growth will never be stagnant, between what they teach me and what I learn, I always want to be better.

As I reflect I'm glad I have a mother too look up too!  She taught me so much, she is still the one I call when I need help.  My mom will forever and always be my hero and voice of reason, always willing to offer sound advice.  That I might add, I am now taking much more often, for some reason 15-20 years ago I wasn't interested in... ahhh how things change.

I would like to add a disclaimer to my note on mother's day!  Just because it's mother's day doesn't mean I want to be around my family the whole weekend.  Actually for the last couple of hours I have been hiding in my room eating my meal and watching some Grey's Anatomy (uninterrupted **sigh**).  I think the most important thing that I have learned about having children is always take time for "me", to recenter and re ground.  If I'm off quilter what good am I to the kids?

So in case you are wondering, mother's day for me isn't about getting a couple corny gifts... it's about enjoying some "me time", some peace and quiet.  As I type this, Mark is cleaning the kitchen so that I don't have to worry about it :)  I will take a clean kitchen and some folded laundry over a bouquet of flowers any day!!!
