Here is my bowl of oats this morning
1/2 c. GF rolled oats
4 tbsp hemp hearts
1/2 mashed banana
2 tbsp flax meal
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
1 tbsp cocoa nibs
some cinnamon and ground nutmeg
1 c. boiling water (to steam the oats)
It must have something to do with not drinking caffeine, but I will now try to put chocolate in anything (even my chilli) :) Here is my mid-morning snack that I packed up while getting ready. I know nut butter is a good source of protein, but I also wanted it chocolaty!!!!
Greek yogourt chocolate nut spread
1 heaping scoop of both tahini and peanut butter
1 full heaping tsp of cocoa powder
1 little bit agave nectar
a 1/2 tsp or less of vanilla extract
2 heaping tbsp of greek yogourt

The final product. It is sooo yummy. I think next time I will work on something a little more creamy! Mixing nut butter and greek yogourt make this really cool consistency thing happen. Try it and watch.
You should try out the PC greek yogurt. I switched because it's just as good as the liberté one but 1-2$ cheaper! You can find it at any Loblaws owned stores (Loblaws, Zehrs, YIG etc...) :)
ReplyDeleteCool thanks Melanie, I would ultimately like to find a goat's greek yogourt (because it's lower it lactose) but it still has to be a affordable. Is Fortino's Loblaws? I have one close to me here.

ReplyDeleteI thought GF diet doesn't make a difference until 3 weeks (what I read) do you feel it is good not just physically but mentally? Are you going to go back on gluton so you can be tested for Celiac disease?
Yes, Fortinos is Loblaws. You should try it out in the mean time, it helps save a few $ on the weekly bill.
ReplyDeleteMy CSA sells all sorts of local organic goat cheese/yogurt but it's all so expensive. It makes me sad.
Columbia, I can't ever go back to gluten unless I have Mark with me to help with the kids. So maybe next summer I can take the celiac test. My mood and mental health (and GI track) are clearly closely related to gluten. I'm at the point in my life were I want to... I NEED to feel the best I can. I need the most energy and strength (mental and physical) to be the best mom/wife I need to be for my family. I think that if you were on Cooler Plan 1, first then going GF the transition is very smooth and Being on both made me feel sooo good. But ever better GF.
